Announcing TEGMA's 2026 AFA Leader and Academic Scholars
We are pleased to announce the recipients of TEGMA's 2026 AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships! Three competitive scholarships have been awarded through Agriculture Future of America (AFA) to outstanding collegiate students pursuing careers that will strengthen the grain merchandising, transportation, and broader agricultural supply chain. The selected scholars were chosen for their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to the future of agriculture.
TEGMA's 2026 AFA Scholars are:
Ariana Misselt (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Agricultural Economics, University of Minnesota Twin Cities
Ariana has built an impressive background in agricultural policy, commodity marketing, and research through internships with Scoular, the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, and the Minnesota Senate Agriculture Committee. She is passionate about strengthening American agriculture, supporting rural communities, and advancing food security.
Gabe Chance (Holstein, Iowa)
Agricultural Business, Iowa State University
Gabe is an Agricultural Business major with a minor in Agricultural Finance who is passionate about the grain and renewable fuels industries. Growing up in northwest Iowa, he developed a strong interest in agriculture and is preparing for a career serving the grain industry through business and finance.
Maggie Allen (Rochester, Minnesota)
Agribusiness and Applied Economics, University of Minnesota Twin Cities
Maggie combines a strong academic background in applied economics with hands-on experience in agricultural markets and pricing strategy through internships and research. She plans to build a career focused on innovative, sustainable solutions that strengthen agricultural markets and food systems.
Now in its seventh year, TEGMA's Educational Initiative continues to invest in the future of the grain industry by identifying and supporting talented students who demonstrate leadership potential and a passion for agriculture.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend TEGMA's 2026 Fall Symposium in Kansas City, where they will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and learn more about careers in grain transportation, merchandising, and agribusiness.
